The book includes my text “Undoing Cemented Dreams” part of a project that explores cement not solely as a construction material, but as a cultural agent implicated in the shaping of Puerto Rico’s modernist aspirations and national imaginaries. Cement became central to governmental development strategies and symbolic of progress, embedding itself in both physical and ideological infrastructures.     I was interviewed about my ongoing project CEMENTED DREAMS for the radio program Arquitectura HOY (Architecture Today) hosted by architect Elliot Santos at WIPR, the radio station of the University of Puerto Rico. In the hour-long conversation I introduce the various themes surrounding the development of the cement industry in Puerto Rico and its unfolding as a cultural agent until today.
